ARE YOU SUFFERING FROM A “SITTING INJURY”?

My office has been flooded recently with patients complaining of back pain, neck pain, sciatica and other symptoms related to working from home on a computer all day. The problem is compounded by less than optimal chairs and desks at home which usually are not ergonomically as efficient as most in the workplace.

Our office is able to relieve your pain as we examine and treat the spinal misalignments, muscle imbalance/ spasm and even disc or nerve related issues such as sciatica, thoracic outlet or carpal tunnel syndrome.

At Tukee Lifestyle Chiropractic we address the CAUSE of your problem, giving you fast and effective relief and also educating you about proper stretches and ergonomic postures to avoid repeated issues. Dr Goozdich wants you to fully understand your problem and its causes so that you can actively participate in correcting it as quickly as possible and avoid further episodes in the future.

SOME KEY POINTS FOR COMPUTER POSTURE:

Sit fully back in your chair with lumbar support- don not sit on the edge of the chair leaning forward.
Make sure your monitor is eye level. Sit properly in your chair in front of the computer and close your eyes. When you open your eyes, if you have to turn or tilt your head at all, then the seat, desk or monitor need to be adjusted accordingly.
Take a “stretch break”, even if it is for one minute every hour. You need to move, for many reasons. Changing posture and position gives muscles a break from constant tension and improves circulation to the legs as well. Furthermore, spinal discs do not receive a blood supply in adults. To maintain healthy discs you have to MOVE! Spinal movement pushes fluids and nutrients in and out of the discs- this process is called imbibition and it keeps the discs from degenerating more rapidly.

Vertebrae that become immobile or “locked” it makes the discs at that level most likely to degenerate or become problematic. This can be corrected with occasional chiropractic adjustments.

Call Tukee Lifestyle Chiropractic today to schedule an appointment for your “sitting injuries” or just for routine maintenance for you and your family. Our goal is to help you be healthier and free of pain, allowing you to live life without limitations!
